Melora Hardin, an actress and “Dancing With the Stars” season 30 contestant, recalled what it was like to get fired early in her career.
In a new one Interview with Page Six, Hardin shared what it was like to be replaced at this point in her career. She was supposed to be in Back to the Future when she was 17. She is now 54 years old.
According to Page Six, she would have starred alongside Eric Stoltz, but he was replaced by Michael J. Fox, and so was Hardin.
Hardin called the experience “painful”
Hardin said it was very difficult to be replaced at that age.
“[It was] so very, very painful,” she told the outlet. “There is no doubt that it was very painful.”
She also told Page Six that she believes her career might have been very different had she landed this role, and that she learned to “get through things” because of the painful experiences she went through.
According to Hardin, she was fired from the role because she was taller than Fox, who was now the star of the film. Anyway, Hardin says she doesn’t think she would have done “The Office” had she starred in that film, and that would mean her career would have been completely different.
“So I think given the age and time, certainly at the moment, it looked like a completely horrible thing, but looking back, it’s probably good,” she shared page six.
Hardin stars in a Hallmark film
Hardin stars in the new Hallmark film entitled “Dear, classifiedThe film premiered on April 16 at 8 p.m. on the Hallmark network.
she spoke to Media Village about her role in the film and called Hallmark “an incredible company”. That’s one reason she accepted the role and another because of the script, she said.
“It’s modern, the dialogue is fresh, and it has a weird plot,” she said. “Stacy N. Harding, who directed, did a great job. Hallmark was willing to expand their storytelling and embrace some of the places they haven’t really delved into.”
She said she was “really, really proud” to be working with them on the film.
The film’s synopsis states, “Romance novelist Emilia returns home after a long absence to reconnect with her children, who are finding their own paths to love.”

When it comes to working with Hallmark again, Hardin said she would “never say no.”
“I’m always one of those guys who takes on one project at a time, so we can also work together on other things and in other ways as I’ve had a wonderful experience with them,” she said.
She also told the outlet that she’s “currently writing a book that I’ve had in my head for about 15 years. I have stacks of single space pages. It’s very interesting.”
