Metro Games in Order – Full List (2022)

Ever since the original Metro 2033 hit our screens in 2010, Metro games have been a staple for FPS fans on both consoles and PC. Based on the Metro novels by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky, players try to survive in a post-nuclear apocalypse. Starting in the Moscow Metro, which gives the series its name, danger can lurk around every corner. But the series’ popularity rests on both its storytelling and horror-survival action. Below is a full list of Metro games in order as of late 2022.

Metro 2033 (2010)

The original game, and what many still think is best. The player tries a first-person shooter, which is mainly set in the Moscow Metro after the Holocaust Help the protagonist Artyom save his home from mutants while surviving the deadly radiation.
Subway: Last Light (2013)

The continuation to Metro 2033 was released three years later and stuck to the successful horror FPS genre alongside stealth and survival elements. You Reprise your role as Artyom, again playing largely in the Mosco Metro. Weapon customization was introduced alongside the hardcore ranger mode.
Subway: Redux (2014)

Released a year after Metro: Last Light, Metro: Redux offers what the publisher called it final versions of the first two games. They were rebuilt using what was then the latest version of the 4A engine, which was used for both games, with Metro 2033: Redux receiving particularly rave reviews.
Subway: Exodus (2019)

Exodus continues the story directly from the end of salvation from Metro: Last night. It stayed with the tried and tested horror shooter format again, but expanded the crafting system while opening up the game more sandbox style areasincluding environmental conditions as the scope of the play area increased.
Metro: Exodus – Two Colonels (2019)

DLC content for Metro: Exodus, adding another approximately four hours of content. Generally praised for its story elementsbut less because of its cost-to-content ratio.
Metro: Exodus – Sam’s Story (2020)

More DLC, this time in Vladivostok than set Sam is trying to get home to the US. It again received a mixed reaction, with story elements brought down by a few gameplay issues.
