Investigators claim Anderson followed his ex-girlfriend Sadie Beacham for weeks – he put a Burner phone in her car and used a GPS tracker to watch and hear the new couple. Detectives found Gutierrez’s blood in Anderson’s van, and cadaver dogs found clothing and a bottle of bleach in a burn pit on his property, authorities said. Gutierrez’s body was never found.

The latest in the case:

Last week, the jury heard testimony from Anderson’s former cellmate. Cellmate Marquan Washington said Anderson admitted to the murder. “He told me they called him Houdini because of his case, and he basically disappeared a body,” Washington said. The court was canceled on Friday because of a snowstorm that ripped through the region. The process is scheduled to pick up where it left off this week.

FL vs. Michael Keetley

blank

Michael Keetley was a well-known ice cream vendor who drove around southeast Hillsborough County in his purple truck. In January 2010, Keetley was shot, beaten and robbed while driving his ice cream truck. Investigators believe Keetley wanted revenge 10 months later, on Thanksgiving Day – he shot six people playing cards outside in Ruskin. Two people were killed – brothers Sergio and Juan Guitron – and four others were injured.

The case went to court in 2020 but ended in a mistrial. Most of the evidence presented by the state was circumstantial and witnesses who testified did not appear to be credible. The defense argued that following the January 2010 attack, it was impossible for Keetley to physically go on a killing spree.

The latest in the case:

The jury heard testimony from friends, exes, law enforcement officials and former employees of Keetley last week – similar testimonies are expected to be heard this week. Testimony between the staffer and Keetley’s defense attorneys became heated as the staffer, David Beckwith, appeared upset at the questions he was being asked. After about an hour on the stand, Beckwith snapped at the attorney and said, “You want to be a smartass to me, I mean I’m going to be a smartass too.
