Michael Scott would never shy away from the challenge of encountering aliens.

If you were looking forward to visiting the Citadel as Shepard in Mass Effect, imagine how the best (worst?) boss in the world, Michael Scott, would take it. The good news is you don’t need to imagine it, as someone kindly created this exact scenario using clips from The Office and Mass Effect gameplay.

This mashup comes from YouTuber eli_handle_b.wav and offers us many scenes created by Michael Scott that fit perfectly into the world of Mass Effect. From the whole “SWAG: Stuff We All Get” joke to his punishing Ashley Williams for her racism, his placement is almost seamless.

Michael Scott even shares his idea for how to settle things between Jack and Miranda when things get tense: a cage fight. As he puts it: “Yes, they work. How could they not work? If they didn’t work, everyone would still be in the cage.” Perhaps this is the de-escalation strategy Commander Shepard should have tried, and it took just now to be so obvious.

Things come to a head when Michael is confronted by Starchild/The Catalyst and asked to make a decision. Instead, Michael Scott decides to scold the kid with a bit of corporal punishment. This is just Michael doing what any player would (although some might choose to use a mod that reduces the Star Child’s appearance instead).

Although it doesn’t show up this time, it felt like he didn’t choose to smack that reporter as well. However, given that, it’s entirely possible that Michael Scott will make the Renegade choice.
