Microsoft Flight Simulator Gets New Video Showing Free 40th Anniversary Helicopter In Action; Gaya presents ground services in brief

news

Microsoft Flight Simulator users will soon be able to fly helicopters for free.

Today Microsoft and a relevant third party developer had interesting news to share about Microsoft Flight Simulator and its add-ons.

We’re starting with a new video direct from Microsoft, part of the Feature Discovery Series.

This time we see one of the helicopters that (besides Gliders) will be launched for free with the 40th Anniversary Edition and Sim Update 11, the Guimbal Cabri G2.

We see how the Cabri has been recreated in the simulator in terms of graphics, sound and systems.

The developers explain how the real helicopter was 3D scanned while accurately recording its sounds. In addition, several new features and technologies have been implemented to correctly simulate the flight of a rotorcraft.

By the way, the Guimbal Cabri G2 isn’t the only helicopter coming with the 40th Anniversary Edition, as we’re also getting the more famous and complex Bell-407.

The edition will launch on November 11th at the discounted price of $0 for anyone who has the base simulator.

We’re also hearing from Gaya Simulations, who will soon be releasing an update for their Vienna Airport (LOWW) with their new custom ground service vehicles.

Although it will be after Sim Update 11 on November 11th, the comparison between the new pushback tractor and the old version is certainly flattering.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is currently available for PC (Windows 10 and Steam) and Xbox Series X|S. If you want to read more about it, you can check out our review.
