Midstate Ice Cream Store is giving away free scoops

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Cumberland County ice cream parlor is giving away free ice cream on Sunday because it’s Oprah Winfrey’s birthday!

Urban Churn is giving away a free scoop of vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles to kids through Sunday night at 8 p.m. The store’s owner says it’s a great way to start Black History Month, which begins in February.

“It’s a great way to celebrate Oprah’s birthday as she’s an iconic character and she’s best known for giving away free things, we do the same with free ice cream,” said owner Adam Brackbill.

This is the second year Urban Churn has been doing this. The store is located on Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg.
