It’s nothing but good news for Monster Hunter fans. The latest entry in the series, Rise, not only arrived three months ago on both previous and current generation Xbox and PlayStation consoles, but the Sunbreak expansion is hot on its heels. This latest entry in the Monster Hunter series has had a long lifespan due to its staggered release, starting with Nintendo Switch, then PC with Steam, and now previous and current generation Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
Current generation consoles get updated with Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
During Capcom’s Showcase this afternoon, the developer and publisher announced that the Sunbreak expansion for Monster Hunter Rise will be coming to both previous and current generation Xbox and PlayStation consoles. The extension is set to be released on April 28, 2023. This should give Capcom fans plenty of time to enjoy the Resident Evil 4 remake and a tight window to hunt monsters ahead of Street Fighter 6’s release.

The Sunbreak expansion features an all-new hunter hub, Elgado, and a whole host of new content. Embark on new Master Tier hunts and earn all-new armor and weapons to defeat some of the fiercest creatures in the series. Similar to the Nintendo Switch and Steam versions of Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, the free content updates are expected to roll out as well, but Capcom has yet to say whether they’ll be available now or roll out at a later date.
