Moon Knight debunked a rumor debunked amid Marvel’s Emmy submissions

moon knight is currently the talk of the town in Marvel fandom and the new rumor floating around is that it has been cancelled. Just like the show itself, all is not what it seems.

We confirm if moon knight canceled or not, discuss the source of the cancellation rumor and provide a Disney Plus series episode guide.

Created by Doug Moench, Jeremy Slater and Don Perlin, the series, starring Oscar Isaac as the titular vigilante, Ethan Hawke, Gaspard Ulliel and May Calamawy, follows former US Marine Spector as he struggles with dissociative identity disorder and his newly acquired powers of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu.

Submissions for the Marvel’s Emmy Awards

diversity recently reported that Marvel Studios submitted a trio of shows for consideration at the Emmy Awards — after WandaVision managed to garner 23 Primetime Emmy Award nominations.

The report also confirmed that the studio was planning a submission Loki next door to the Limited Series category hawk eye and moon knight. However, because Loki confirmed for Season 2, its continuation automatically disqualifies the series from this particular category based on the following provisions:

“The program must tell a complete, non-recurring story and have no ongoing storyline or main characters in subsequent seasons.”

When hawk eye and moon knight were placed in that category, it pretty much confirms that both shows won’t be getting a second season, sparking rumors of cancellation.

Has Moon Knight been canceled?

No, moon knight was not canceled as Marvel Studios had only planned one season moon knightcalling the show a “miniseries” — also known as a limited series.

As in WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldierand hawk eye, moon knight will follow the same pattern in completing its narrative in the first season’s six episodes.

The only Disney Plus shows to continue into a second season will be Loki and the animated series What if…?.

moon knight consists of six episodes in its first season, each episode lasting between 40 and 50 minutes.
