Mother and daughter fight with Spirit Airlines employees over luggage

A 39-year-old mother and her 17-year-old daughter recently got into a fight with scores of Spirit Airlines employees, and it was all caught on film!

It preceded a Spirit Airlines flight to Florida AB

The ordeal happened just over a week ago at Philadelphia International Airport, according to the report Daily Mail. The altercation reportedly broke out because the mother-daughter duo’s carry-on luggage was too heavy and they subsequently had to pay an extra fee.

The travelers, who were en route to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., didn’t take the news too well, however, and the video begins with them scraping with employees right at the entrance to the passenger boarding bridge.

A young boy who appears to be with the couple quickly walks away to call for safety, although fighting continues. The boy then returns and proceeds to punch a Spirit Airlines agent before running away crying.

After the brawl comes to a halt, tension mounts as a member of staff passionately exclaims, “She hit me first!”

Then the situation heats up again, and the mother even takes off her shirt at one point. Meanwhile, a confused onlooker says what everyone is thinking: “Where the heck is the security?”

Just as the ordeal seems to be coming to an end, the mother begins to rampage again. As a result, an employee quickly attacks the mother – and grabs her wig – before the video ends.

No arrests were made in the incident

In a statement to the outlet, a spokesman for the Philadelphia Police Department said they had not made any arrests over the incident. They also noted that no one was seriously injured and the only injury was a laceration over the eye of a 24-year-old agent.

They also provided further context, noting that the 17-year-old started the altercation after she was denied access to the jetway for not complying with the “extra baggage fees”.

“Several passengers pulled apart a 24-year-old complainant and a 17-year-old woman, along with her 39-year-old mother, during a dispute over additional baggage fees. At that point, the 17-year-old woman was attempting to access Jetway and was stopped by the 24-year-old complainant when she was being punched/hair-pulled by the 17-year-old woman, who was being assisted by her 39-year-old mother .”

The statement also said: “All participants received advice from the police regarding private criminal reporting documents.”

In the end, the flight was delayed by about an hour, although afterwards it looks like everything went smoothly.
