‘Plan trips in advance’

In a statement earlier this week, St Helens Borough Council said: “Next Monday 16 January we will be carrying out substantial road renewal work at Millfield Lane, Haydock, at the roundabout at its junction with Piele Road and Hall Wood Avenue.

“To complete the work, which is expected to take five days depending on weather conditions, the east and west arms of the roundabout will be closed with access to Hall Wood Avenue available via Piele Road.

“Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance to avoid delays and a posted detour will be put in place.”
