This season, eight contestants are left to their own devices in a brand new environment and forced to battle the elements for 21 days. This show is completely different from the original series. Instead of having a partner, all participants compete completely alone.
As far as the specific locations are concerned, that’s how it was revealed that the main regions where the competitors have been left are Mexico, Guyana and South Africa.

Naked and Fear XL Alum Kaila Cumings returns, this time in Mexico’s Tanquizul Forest. She recently spoke about her experience with the new show and said, that“The biggest thing for me in this challenge was being alone because I had a partner in every other challenge I had.”
“I think I was afraid that I would reconsider everything. I’ll be out there all day and there’s nothing to distract me,” she added.
Terra joins her in Mexico, but several hours away. Terra was a contestant in Season 14 of Naked and scared and was the first trans woman on the show. It will start in the mountains of the Sierra Madre.

The second location for Naked and Fear: Solo is Guyana, South America. Here, Naked and Fear XL Alum Suzanne Zeta will be at the Yupukari Rainforest and Fellow XL Alum Jamie “WildMan” Frizzell will be in the Rupununi Jungle.

Four of the eight participants start their journey in South Africa. Fernando Calderon, making this his fourth time in the franchise, will be in Lion Springs Savannah. Former XL Candidate James Lewis will be in the Ndzalama grasslands.
Shanika Malcom, naked and afraid‘s first black female winner will be in the bushland of Hectorspruit. And finally, season 14 contestant Cheeny Plante will be in the desert of the Great Karoo.

Before the premiere, Cheeny talked about how it was for her on the show. “Life was easier [while doing the show]. It’s weird, it’s like you’re tapping into another part of your brain. You wake up a part of you that has been sleeping for so long. Because there is no technology, no light, no bad news… It’s hard to put into words, but it’s really powerful – and you miss it.”
Without newcomers and a few pioneers from the original series, Naked and Fear: Solo sure to be a real thrill competition. The show airs every Sunday, only on Discovery+.
