Netflix has warned millions of Brits they could soon be banned from watching TV on the platform.
The streaming giant has announced plans to roll out a feature that will prevent users from sharing passwords, with anyone caught doing so banned from watching.
To bypass the system Netflix introduces a “paid sharing” feature that costs less than a full subscription.
Confirmation of the upcoming change, which is expected to affect around 100 million people, Netflix said, “Later in the first quarter, we expect to begin the broader adoption of paid sharing. Today’s widespread account sharing (over 100 million households) is eroding our long-term ability to invest in and improve Netflix and build our business.
“While our Terms of Service limit Netflix usage to one household, we recognize that this is a change for members who share their account more broadly.
“That’s why we’ve been hard at work developing additional new features that enhance the Netflix experience, including the ability for members to review which devices are using their account and transfer a profile to a new account.
“With the introduction of paid sharing, members in many countries will also have the option to pay extra if they want to share Netflix with people they don’t live with.
“Like today, all members can watch TV on the go, whether it’s on a TV or mobile device.”
How to find “secret” shows on Netflix
All you have to do is figure out what show genre you want to watch.
When entering the Netflix URL into the web browser, select the code from the list below and add it to the URL, e.g. B. www.netflix.com/browse/genre/xxx, which takes you to a variety of movies or TV shows only in that particular genre.
The codes can lead to very niche areas, for example instead of browsing for action movies, you can narrow down to just comics and superhero movies (10118) or just martial arts movies (8985).
Or if you’re just interested in watching a miniseries you can type in 4814, and for classic TV shows you can type in 46553 to get a choice.
