New dad Drew Scott has found that having a newborn at home stinks — literally. In recent days, the HGTV star has opened up about what it’s been like since he and wife Linda welcomed their first child, Parker James, on May 12, 2022 – which happened to be their fourth wedding anniversary.
From the bliss of looking his son in the eye to the stench of endless dirty diapers, the “Property Brothers” star revels in the first few weeks of parenthood.
Scott juggles and sniffs dirty diapers in new video
in a (n Instagram role Posted on Aug. 5, Scott shared a photo of himself as a kid, back when he did it all sorts of tricks up his sleeve. He and his twin brother Jonathan were Canadian champions in karate, competed in bagpipe competitions and even worked as clowns for a time.
Of his childhood photo, Scott wrote, “If only this kid could see what I’m juggling.” The post then switched to a video of Scott picking up three dirty diapers and juggling, sniffing one of them and looking disgusted. The reel ended with a quick photo of him holding baby Parker in one arm and with the other holding up the infant’s outfit with a huge stain of poop on it.
To caption the post, Scott wrote: “Parents juggle many things. I’m just good at juggling a certain thing,” adding a poop emoji and a baby emoji. This isn’t the first time Scott has shown off his juggling skills; In 2019, HGTV caught a little fraternal competition between himself and Jonathan Juggling balls, no diapers.
New dad says he’s discovered a new level of love
Scott isn’t just a weird deal when it comes to being a dad. In an August 3rd Interview on “Entertainment Tonight” He revealed the experience expanded his heart in ways he didn’t expect.
“It unlocks a side you didn’t know you had,” he said. “You think you know.”
He shared that not only does he adore his son, but becoming a new father has also deepened his love for his wife.
“I have this deep love for Linda, but suddenly that’s the shallow pool,” he explained. “I’m not saying superficially with Linda, I love Linda, but there’s a whole different depth to Linda and my love together with Parker. It’s amazing just seeing his face when he looks at you as he started concentrating and locking his eyes with you – oh your heart is melting. It is wonderful.”
Scott being interviewed by HGTV while filming a new season “Brother against brother”, also revealed that he and Linda did not hire nannies or babysitters for Parker.
“Right now, Linda and I are taking everything,” he said. “I have a busy schedule and Linda looks after Parker during filming – but when I’m not here 24/7 I work with Parker full-time. We just don’t want to miss those minutes, you know, the moments when he’s little. I don’t want to miss any of it.”
