New study ranks Los Angeles and Portland among top 20 cities with best food

A discussion that never gets old is which city has the best food. In a new study, you might be surprised by the 20 best neighborhoods that made a list of cities with the best food.

Corresponding wallet hubthe boot (Louisiana) nor MS made it into the top 20 for the best food — as many in online conversations have suggested.

Number one is Portland, OR; Number 5 is Austin, TX and Las Vegas is number 9. Portland, ME is number 17, New York is number 18, Charleston, SC is number 19, and Oakland, CA is number 20.

If you don’t think Louisiana/Mississippi has the best food, you’re definitely eating at the wrong places. We can take you to some corner shops, gas stations, and holes in the walls to serve you one of the best meals you’ve ever had.

Even Los Angeles made it to number 15 on the list.

According to a press release, “over 180 of the largest US cities across 29 key metrics. The dataset ranges from affordability and accessibility of quality restaurants to food festivals per capita to craft breweries and wineries per capita.”

New Orleans comes in at number one and Gulfport, MS comes in at number 172 on the list.

Additionally, Orlando, FL has the most restaurants per square root of population and the most ice cream and frozen yogurt shops.
