foot Mercato believe Monaco will cost a sum of €40m (£34m) to sell their superb centre-back, who has really made a name for himself in France.

Newcastle are also interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen striker Diaby, who has been in sensational form for the German side this season.

The 22-year-old scored 16 goals in 38 Appearances while also provide 11 helps.

However, Diaby is expected to cost a little more than Badiashile as Bayer Leverkusen demand a €90m (£76m) fee to sell their dangerous No.19 this summer.

foot Mercato believe Newcastle want Diaby to play Allan Saint-Maximin and form a dynamic winger duo.

Newcastle must sign Benoit Badiashile but ignore Moussa Diaby

We think £34m is actually a reasonable fee for one of Europe’s most promising defenders who is just 21 years old.

As such, Newcastle should make an offer as Howe could use a little more quality in the centre-back department.

However, a £76m move for Diaby would be far too expensive, exciting as the young Frenchman is.

At this stage of Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi’s project, Newcastle need to invest in upgrades across all areas of the squad rather than wasting part of the budget on one player.

Therefore, a change for Diaby should be ignored as it is simply too expensive.

Keep an eye on this situation because anything could happen this summer.
