Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have been linked with Alexander Isak and MOTD presenter Gary Lineker’s verdict on the Real Sociedad striker will embolden St James’ Park believers.
The Daily Mail has reported that Newcastle are interested in signing Isak from Sociedad in the summer transfer window.
The Sweden international will cost over £40million in transfer fees, which the report says is likely to be unaffordable for Newcastle due to FFP restrictions.
Now of course it remains to be seen whether Newcastle will step up their interest in the 22-year-old and attempt to secure a deal, but for now, St James’ Park faithful are encouraged to hear Lineker’s thoughts on the youngster.
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker and BBC MOTD presenter Lineker is a big fan of Isak and was impressed by his performance for Sweden in last summer’s Euro 2020 finals.

Isak is a versatile player who can play as a striker or as a winger.
The Sociedad forward didn’t have the best times last season, scoring just one goal six goals and two assists in 26 LaLiga starts.
However, Isak scored three goals in five starts in the Europa League last season.
The striker scored 17 goals and provided two assists at La in 2020-21. League.
