What’s the matter?

Well, Newcastle fans won’t appreciate what Mignolet said about De Ketelaere.

Speak with Het Laatste Nieuws, said the 21-year-old: “Mignolet once told me that there isn’t much to do in Newcastle and that in winter it’s dark by four o’clock. Then when you hear Dries Mertens … (talk about Napoli).”

As you can see, Mignolet hasn’t exactly given the Belgium international a raving review from Tyneside.

If you take into account what he has said about Dries Mertens and Napoli, it seems like De Ketelaere was somewhat put off from a move to Newcastle.

It was Calciomercato who revealed the Magpies were keen to sign the attacker, valued at £33.5m by Club Brugge.

Newcastle can still convince Charles De Ketelaere

In our view, this persecution is not over yet.

Newcastle are now the richest club in the world and while Tyneside might not be the most appealing destination for European prodigies, it would be an exciting project to hold onto.

The Magpies can easily afford the £33.5million it takes to sign De Ketelaere and he certainly seems worth the investment.

So far this season, the Bruges-born sensation has scored 17 Goals in all competitions while also providing nine helps.

Impressively, he’s also a versatile character, having played on both wings as well as a centre-forward.

De Ketelaere is also a full-fledged senior international, so there’s really no limit to this incredible prodigy.

Keep an eye on this saga as he could play for Newcastle next season.
