That “Real Housewives of New York City‘ is going through both a reboot and a cast change, and rumors are swirling about who’s staying, who’s leaving and who’s joining.

On March 23rd variety reported that Bravo will “reboot and recast” the iconic reality series with an all-new take on the original show and a spin-off starring previous stars.

“We’re looking for a multicultural group of friends who truly represent the most exciting city in the country,” said Bravo host Andy Cohen. “We are looking for a group of women who are real friends and who come from different backgrounds, races and religions.”


A popular news anchor is said to be in talks to join RHONY

RHONY has long been criticized for a lack of diversity. It wasn’t until 2021 that Eboni signed K. Williams as the franchise’s first-ever black cast member. Ahead of season 14, producers are looking for a Pakistani news anchor to join the cast.

According to page six, multiple insiders claim that New York news anchor Hena Doba is in talks with Bravo to join the new RHONY. A source told the outlet that casting directors have reached out to Doba, 44, while another noted producers hope to cast “up and coming” and “more diverse women” who better reflect the Big Apple population .

Doba shared the outlet’s rumor article her Instagram page with the caption: “Can’t confirm or deny but hey I made @pagesix!”


Hena Doba is a longtime television journalist and lifelong New Yorker

Doba has a lot of experience in front of TV cameras. According to their LinkedIn pagethe long-time television journalist, hosts Cheddar News’ programs “Cheddar Climate – the Fight for Change”, “Search for a Cure – Covid 19” and “News Wrap”.

She previously worked as a national correspondent for CBS News in New York, where she was the anchor of The National Desk with Hena Doba. She has won several Associated Press Awards for her reporting.

In an interview in the Fairfield County lookDoba revealed that she grew up in Queens.

“I’m a first-generation Pakistani,” she revealed. “My parents moved to New York a few months before I was born, not only to have a better life, but to ensure their children had opportunities they never dreamed of. To this day, they believe that anything is possible in this country with hard work, determination and discipline.”

She revealed that when deciding on a career she was “always fascinated by the fast pace of television news,” but never imagined she would be the face of a news show.

“I could never have imagined being in front of a camera in a million years,” she admitted. “First – people from my neighborhood didn’t end up on TV and second – a fact I couldn’t escape is that nobody on TV looked like me.”

“But then 9/11 happened,” she added. “I took my camcorder, left my parents’ house, and tried to get to Manhattan, interviewing New Yorkers along the way. That started my career in front of the camera. Ironically, a few years later I became the first Pakistani TV presenter in the country.”
