NFL Player Calls Giants QB Daniel Jones ‘Trash’

The New York Giants quarterback scored a touchdown against the Chicago Bears.

There is no longer a debate about what the New York Giants will do with quarterback Daniel Jones. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, New York signed Jones to a four-year, $160 million extension.

The Giants worked with Jones’ reps on overtime until the last minute. If they couldn’t agree, New York would have used the franchise tag to keep its quarterback in New York.

Unlike New York’s No. 8, a quarterback who has the same number couldn’t make the same deal with his team. Baltimore Raven Lamar Jackson received the non-exclusive franchise tag and has until July 15, 2023 to sign a new renewal. A new debate was sparked when Jones was paid before Jackson, and a current player joined the conversation.

Brisker has yet to delete the tweet and even retweeted a post by ESPN’s Ryan Clark to express their opinion on the new contract.

With Jackson receiving the non-exclusive tag, his future in Baltimore remains uncertain as he can negotiate a contract with other NFL teams. The Giants have their quarterback that’s not going anywhere for quite some time.

Giants free agent receiver defends Jones

Not everyone was ready to criticize Daniel Jones and his new contract. Free agent wide receiver Darius Slayton went to defend his quarterback, Reply to Brisker’s tweet.

Slayton doesn’t use words, just an image of the final score between the Bears and Giants last season. It was one of Jones’ best performances of the season. carrying the ball six times for 68 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-12 win over Chicago.

Because Slayton is a free agent, he doesn’t have to defend a quarterback, which he may not play with in 2023. However, after four years together, Slayton has taken it upon himself to make sure people respect Jones no matter what team he was on.

Even before Slayton responded to the critical tweet, He congratulated his quarterback on getting the contract and said no one was “deserving”.

Jones and Slayton have been with the Giants since their rookie seasons, both being drafted in 2019. They bonded immediately and Jones relied on Slayton whenever he needed to make a big play.

Even with a run-first offense under head coach Brian Daboll, Slayton still managed Lead the team in receiving with 724 yards and an average of 15.7 yards per reception.

At just 26, Slayton is entering a tenuous class of free-agent wide receivers where he may be considering a major contract. Pro Football Focus has a proposed deal for No. 86 after two years worth $10 million, $6.25 million guaranteed. With Jones back in New York, Slay might be tempted to return with the Giants and maintain the obvious connection with his quarterback.
