Former The Voice coach Nick Jonas was playing softball in Encino, Calif. yesterday when he nearly collapsed on the field. Corresponding page six, “he appeared to have been hit in the groin with the ball.” The 29-year-old pop star used his brother Kevin as a makeshift crutch as he hobbled to a nearby Land Rover and went to the emergency room.
To make matters worse, the two Jonas brothers hobbled into the wrong room at the hospital, forcing them to struggle through yet another painful walk, this time in the right direction. Apparently Jonas did well with this extra walking as he soon got back to his normal gait. Page Six quipped, “Maybe someone finally said the age-old mantra to Nick, ‘Leave it alone.'”
Jonas is no stranger to injuries
It’s not the first time the “Sucker” singer has injured himself during a sporting activity. In May 2021, Jonas was injured in a bicycle accident that left him with a fractured rib and a few other “bumps and bruises.” Jonas returned as a coach and mentor on The Voice a few days after being discharged from the hospital. Lute! news.
Jonas’ injuries were addressed directly in The Voice. Some of his co-stars were more sympathetic to his situation than others. Host Carson Daly seemed genuinely concerned when he asked Jonas how he was feeling. Jonas replied, “I’m fine. I’m better, but I’m fine.”
Jonas then added: “I just want to say that in case I’m not as physically excited as I usually am. But Blake, please don’t make me laugh like that because it kinda hurts to laugh.” Blake Shelton, who never misses an opportunity for a joke despite Jonas’ humble request, quipped, “They’re just trying to get sympathy votes for this show . That’s all you do.” Jonas, trying not to laugh, replied, “Yeah, it’s a big, elaborate plan.”
Softball used to be more fun for Jonas
About two weeks before his groin injury, Jonas played in another softball game that he is in on Instagram happily strolling with his wife Priyanka Chopra. Aside from that, according to the Daily Mail“Priyanka Chopra and her husband, Nick Jonas, dabbled a bit with PDA before cheering him on at his softball game in Los Angeles on Sunday.”
About a month earlier, Chopra cheered for her husband at another softball game in Los Angeles that took place on April 26, 2021. Lute! news“One observer said the actress ‘couldn’t take her eyes off the game’ and was ‘cheering with some of her friends from the stands,’ and kissed her husband between innings.”
Unfortunately, Chopra wasn’t there on Sunday to kiss Jonas’ injuries away. Page Six surmises, “Chopra, 39, was likely with her daughter Malti, who was recently discharged from the NICU after giving birth prematurely in January.”
Pain isn’t funny (but it can be)
Now that everything turned out fine, perhaps Jonas could get some weird relief from this relevant clip from Cheers.
