According to his Facebook page, who “works at Ritchie” under the name Nick Miu, Miu attended Robbinsdale Armstrong Senior High, studied mechanical engineering at South Dakota State University, lives in Prior Lake, Minnesota, and is originally from Bloomington, Minnesota. He is married.

The suspect was in a group of six to eight people, and the victims were in another group. The sheriff said authorities wanted to question about 15 to 20 people. Authorities are not sure what triggered the incident.

One woman wrote in his comments thread: “Quality family time? Like when an innocent 17 year old gets stabbed to death while enjoying some innocent Saturday fun by a river!? Wow.”

3. The suspect left the scene after the stabbings, the sheriff says

The suspect left the scene after the stabbing, the sheriff said. It took time for authorities to get “upstream,” the sheriff said, adding that the stabbings took place near the Sunrise Bridge at “old Sunrise Park.”

Please note that the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office has responded to a critical incident at the Apple River in the city of Somerset. Five people suffered stab wounds and are currently in serious to critical condition. A suspect has been located and taken into custody, there is no further threat to the public. We are still actively investigating this incident. The names of the victims and suspects are currently being withheld. Sheriff Knudson will issue an official press release at a later date.
