One dead, 4 injured after gunfire erupted at Fredo Bang concert

Two men were arrested after one person was killed and four others injured in a shootout Fredo Bang Concert in Arkansas early Saturday, police said.

Tamarionna Jarrett19, of Augusta, was identified as the only fatality in the shooting during the rapper’s performance around 2:30 a.m., police said KAIT TV.

Richard McGee31 and Aaron Warren, 28, were arrested on probable causes but not charged. They are currently being held in the Jackson County Jail.

Lieutenant Mark Harmon told the outlet that he expects more arrests in the coming days.

The exact condition of the four wounded victims was not immediately clear, but authorities confirmed one was flown to a hospital for further treatment.

The fatal concert shooting happened in Newport, Arkansas, a small town of about 8,000 people about 90 miles northeast of Little Rock.

The shooting took place outside the Old Branch Building. A concert-goer, Latasha Robinson, was in the building but said she didn’t hear any gunshots, likely because of the loud music.

“I didn’t hear any shots. I actually had some people that I helped in the VIP area, so we were all on stage, so we didn’t hear anything,” she said.

Robinson noted the sad irony in the fact that everyone inside was having the times of their lives, while people were dying and suffering just outside the concert venue.

“Just knowing that something like this happened out there while such a good time was going on… there were no fights, there was no drunken chaos, there was nothing,” she told KAIT-TV.

As soon as the shooting started, security forces pushed everyone back to get back inside.

Meanwhile, Robinson described the scene of the fatal shooting she witnessed outside after shots were fired.

“When I got out of here the police had taped both sides and they were looking for gun shells and my heart just sank. Just to know something like this happened outside,” she said.
