Moon Knight: The Story So Far

Moon Knight was released on Disney+ on Wednesday March 30th, 2022.

The amazing series, starring Oscar Isaac, tells the story of Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift shop worker who works at the British Museum.

It doesn’t take long, however, for Steven’s routine life to be turned upside down when he discovers he’s sharing his body with someone else, an all-action mercenary named Marc Spector, who is also the human avatar for an ancient Egyptian god.

After an encounter with the villain Arthur Harrow, who plans to summon the deity Ammit, Marc/Steven travel to Egypt to put an end to Harrow’s plans to raise the Devourer of the Dead.

Will Moon Knight return for Season 2?

Prior to the release of Moon Knight, the show was billed as a limited miniseries, which usually means the show’s story is told over a season before it ends.

This means that a second season of Moon Knight seems a bit unlikely – although not impossible given its history of limited series being picked up for multiple seasons if they prove popular enough.

While discussing plans for the MCU’s growing slate of television series, Kevin Feige hinted, per IGN In 2021, plans were discussed to continue Moon Knight and other shows for multiple seasons.

“We’re about to start filming on some of the shows I mentioned [including Moon Knight]we’re thinking of a structure that would lead more directly into a second and third season than, say, a show like WandaVision,” the producer said.

Oscar Isaac hasn’t signed up for more yet

The answer as to whether Moon Knight will return for more rests with lead actor Oscar Isaac.

Speak with Rich In February 2022, Oscar Isaac reconfirmed that Moon Knight would be a limited series and a recently released item diversity also revealed that the 43-year-old actor has not signed an extended contract with Marvel beyond Moon Knight’s six-episode inaugural series.

“I had heard about the golden handcuffs,” Isaac joked to Variety. “That was something where I was reluctant. And fortunately we all agreed that this [show] that’s what we’re going to focus on.”

However, Oscar Isaac has hinted that Moon Knight won’t necessarily be good forever, saying, “If there’s a future, I think it just depends on people liking it, people wanting to see more and if we can find a story worth telling.”
