Over 100 degrees heat probably next week!

Posted:

We’re expecting an August heatwave this week! High pressure will be the main weather feature over the Deep South in the future. This setup will bring us plenty of sunshine and much warmer temperatures. The air will remain largely dry and this will help temperatures soar into the upper 90’s. We reckon there’s a good chance we’ll climb over 100 degrees around midweek. The humidity will creep up and it will feel more like 105 to 110. Our chance of rain seems to be low to non-existent for the next few days. There is a very small chance of tropical moisture moving into far south Alabama Monday through Tuesday. Model data that shows something tropical also works in the Gulf. A shift further north could mean an increase in the chance of rain for some, but for now that’s a long way off. In the meantime we are back in the oven in the hot and dry August weather. Try to keep your cool and prepare to slow down and take it easy again!
