Overwatch Players Discover ‘Insane Potential’ of Cassidy’s New ‘Air Roll’ Ability
Cassidy is more agile than ever in Overwatch as the latest update has allowed a new ‘Air Roll’ mechanic that’s already been abused to create some next-level highlights.
After a false start on January 6, the first Overwatch balance update in 155 days has finally arrived. The six heroes have been tweaked in unique ways with most getting some big deals.
While certain changes bring joy to the community, others led to heavy criticism when players argued that the new mechanics were “broken. ”
With more practice time in the past few days, Cassidy is now in the spotlight. While the ability to “roll on the fly” seems small for now, new discoveries have shown just how “crazy” this change really is.
In theory, the new summoner spell adds a bit of mobility to the shooter without fundamentally changing his gear. However, in reality, it opens up a whole new gameplay for the hero with a previous background.
Cassidy can now be ready for high ground vantage points without assistance from any other hero. Just by activating the Combat Roll at the right time and rolling up the kinky surfaces, DPS can move through any given map better than ever.
Whether you’re fleeing a skirmish in Nepal or are in a single flanking position on Oasis, there’s now “crazy potential” for heroes to reshape the meta, as MagicMarv showcased above. YouTube.
No place is out of reach for Cassidy right now. If you can see it, chances are you can finish it thanks to the latest balance update.
It also turns out that the new Air Roll mechanic even works to knock Cassidy away from his teammates. Yet another new discovery after the January 6 update.
If you don’t have a box or rail to boost, you can call on your teammates for help. With the right setup, you can easily glide towards high ground.
“That poor Torb was only used as a footstool,” like one player put it.
With a brand new feature to master, it’s only a matter of time before we see how Cassidy continues to appear in the Overwatch meta. Some crafty Deadeyes Air Roll can just topple the regular team fight on its head.
However, if things get out of hand, rest assured that Blizzard is ready to step in. “We know some of these changes will spur a lot of conversation, “developer admit after a wave of backlash. So we’ll have to wait and see if things get back on track in the coming days.
