Pa. The doctor won the national “Veterinary of the Year” award

LANSDALE, Pennsylvania (WPVI) – Dr. Rossi may be “Veterinarian of the Year,” but he says the life-changing work at North Penn Animal Hospital was truly a team effort.

“This hospital would not exist without the staff and their attitude and the way they are above the world,” he said.

Rossi founded North Penn Animal Hospital in 1996 to provide family-oriented care for animals in the Lansdale area. Over the years, loyal pet owners have sought out Rossi and his team’s expertise in reproduction, surgery, dentistry and more.

Patient pet owner of 20 years, Bill Burland, recently nominated Rossi for the Westminster Club (WKC) “Veter of the Year Award”. As a finalist, Rossi received numerous online votes from veterinarians and patients.

“That overwhelming response completely confirms what kind of practice this is,” says Burland.

Rossi was selected from a nationwide group of excellent veterinarians to receive the award, the result of a partnership with WKC and Trupanion. As a result, a $10,000 donation to MightyVet, an online educational resource, will be made in his name.

“I still can’t believe it,” said Rossi, “that so many people took the time to nominate me and vote for me.”

But patient pet owners and co-workers don’t have time to believe it.

“You can rely on any information he gives you and he’s always there to help whenever you need it,” says Christine Barone of the American Bulldog Club.

With Rossi’s leadership, North Penn has become a trusted organization where employees tend to stay forever.

Chief Medical Officer Erika Perin said: “It is thanks to Dr Rossi and the culture he has created here. “You can see his compassion for animals and that comes to us.”

Going forward, Rossi hopes to continue to practice and encourage more veterinarians to enter the field. He sees his team as an inspiration to keep going through the tough parts of the job.

“No matter how bad a day is, if I look around and see how much my staff are devoted to animals, it makes me smile,” he said.
