The New York Jets added a superstar talent to the defence a year ago, but he has never had to play fast.
Carl Lawson was stolen from the Cincinnati Bengals and was supposed to quell the hasty woes of green and white, but it never materialized.
Currently, Achilles is seriously injured, so it is not known what he will bring to the team next season.
That means Jets must once again be active in the open market in search of another dynamic overshoot. Luckily, one analyst suggested the perfect pickup for Gang Green this holiday season.

A very interesting fit when defending
In I’m Just Say with Brian Mazique, the theme of perfection suitable free agency was brought up on the show, and one analyst had a pretty fitting name for Jets fans to munch on:
“Haason Reddick played with the Panthers. I mean he was a crazy player for Carolina. How would you like it if you had Carl Lawson on one side and Reddick on the other? I don’t really see them hitting EDGE in the first round,” said NFL analyst Ryan Sanudo. “To have those two specimens for defense would be something. With all the money the Jets have in free agency, they might say confusingly, Carolina, we’re getting Reddick. “
Former Temple product is set to become an unrestricted freelance agent this March and will be looking for his big payday. He decided to buy a one-year jet in 2021 and it paid off well.
Spotrac market value project that he would strike a deal that pays more than $15.3 million per season in a multi-year deal. That would rank 12th in the NFL among outside defenders.
The 27-year-old originally entered the league as the overall 13th pick in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft.
Obviously the passer took a while to find his place in the NFL, but once he figured it out, Reddick exploded.
While the numbers are certainly impressive, all the other stats stand out:
- 50 quarterback hits
- 45 tackles to lose
- 11 times forced to clumsy
The cherry on this cake is his attendance trophy, Reddick played in 80 of his 81 career NFL games in his five seasons.

As for the Jets, they have to hope for the best and expect the worst as it relates to Lawson’s injury and his return.
You can hope that he’s made a full recovery and can still be that potential bum, but you can’t count on that.
In fact, we’ll take it a step further by saying that the Jets should assume he’s not coming back. With that in mind, they should keep adding records to the fire and get more passers.
If Lawson comes back brilliant it’s gravy, if he doesn’t that’s okay because you’re prepared for it.
