Tommy Fury withdrew from a boxing match with Jake Paul, who will rematch Woodley on December 18 in an eight-round bout at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., on Showtime pay-per-view. Social media personality Keemstar was the first to report the news overnight, which Paul and Woodley later announced Monday morning on Instagram.

Fury revealed the reason for his withdrawal in a statement (via talkSPORT.com’s Michael Benson).

“It’s heartbreaking for me to be forced to withdraw from the fight with Jake Paul due to a chest infection and broken ribs,” Fury said. “I really hope we can move this game into the new year. I want this fight to happen more than anything.”

“It’s official: Tommy Fury is boxing’s biggest b*tch,” Paul said. “He withdrew from the war. The Furys have withdrawn from the fight due to a ‘health condition.’ Who knows what f*ck is going on in that camp? … At first I couldn’t believe it. It doesn’t even seem real. He fumbled for the biggest bag of his life. Now he will watch at home, paying me $60 instead of being paid millions of dollars against me. I fought with my broken nose, I fought the disease, got over it. This is your right. It’s official: He was scared, I think the sh*t talk involved him. That’s bad news.

“The good news is Mr. Tyron Woodley, we called him up and we said, ‘Hey, do you want to join the fight?’ He has been trained. He said, ‘Sure, I’ll duel, let’s do the rematch, run back.’ I’ll give him another $500,000 if he can take me down. Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley 2: ‘Without a doubt.’ I didn’t knock him down the first time. I’m back and I’m getting the crazy W, a hit that knocks out the crazy highlight reel. The show must go on.”

Paul (4-0) overcame Woodley (0-1) by split this past August, and the former UFC welterweight champion has been campaigning for a rematch since. Calls to withdraw have only grown louder from Woodley after he made a pre-match bet by tattooing Paul’s name on his middle finger for losing to him. Paul initially indicated that he was open to a rematch with Woodley if he got the tattoo, and they embarked on it in the ring, but Paul instead chose to face Fury, the brother of the boxing champion Tyson Fury heavyweight.

But now that Fury is out, Paul will join the ring with the man who has given him the toughest test to date. Even though Paul was the busier fighter, Woodley was still able to kick him in Round 4, and the YouTuber-redirected fighter for the first time covered the gap.

Paul released a video announcing the change, insulting Fury and claiming that he was offering Woodley $500,000 if Woodley could knock him out in their rematch.

“It’s official, Tommy Fury is boxing’s biggest b*tch,” Paul said. “He withdrew from the war. The Furys family pulled out of the fight due to a ‘health condition’, who knows what’s going on in that camp? I think he has a bad case of ‘p * ss-itis.’ I couldn’t believe the news at first. This isn’t even real. He fumbled for the biggest bag of his life. Now he will watch at home, paying me $60 instead of being paid millions of dollars against me. I fought with my broken nose, I fought with illness, overcame it. This is your right. It was official, he was scared, I think the pressure was on him, the sh*t talk was on him. That’s bad news, guys.

I didn’t take him down the first time, I’ll come back and get that crazy W, a crazy highlight-reel knock. December 18, the show has to go on, I’ll see you guys there.”

The news was first reported by Mirror Online.

This will be the second meeting between Paul and Woodley this year. The two fought in August at a Showtime event in Cleveland, and Paul won in the deciding round of eight. Woodley immediately called for a rematch, which Paul claims would be approved if the former UFC welterweight champion continued to place pre-fight bets where the loser would be named. tattooed somewhere on their body.

Woodley later showed that he had an “I love Jake Paul” tattoo done on his middle finger, although some questioned whether the tattoo was real and Paul apparently indicated that he would continue from the rematch regardless. Paul will go on to fight Fury, a reality TV star and half-brother of heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury, while Woodley is said to be in talks with fellow UFC fighter Dan Hardy next spring.

The loss of Paul-Fury has dealt a blow to Showtime given the amount of promotions that have gone into the game so far. Paul and Fury rarely miss out on public photo opportunities together, and that culminated in a memorable press conference two weeks ago in which Paul engaged in dusty talk with both Tyson and the father of two. brothers John.
