Pennsylvania contestant takes home award at The Price is Right

ALTOONA, Pa (WTAJ) – Come down! One of the next participants in The Price is Right comes from Altoona.
Nathan “Nate” Ross, 27, was one of the lucky attendees of the January 18 edition of The Price is Right. The show was pretaped so Nate is back in Altoona and our Morgan Kosier stopped by the watch party.
Nate was thrilled to have the opportunity and as a superfan, it still blows my mind to think of being on the show.
“What an amazing experience to have a small-town Altoona guy on The Price is Right say, ‘Like you’re kidding me? That’s crazy,'” Nate said.

As a superfan, Nate said you need to prepare for a meeting with the show’s producers. Nate was asked a series of questions and met with several producers, eventually leading to an invitation to the show.
“I’ve certainly done my fair share of learning,” Nate said.
Nate wasn’t allowed to discuss awards until after the show aired, but he didn’t leave empty-handed.
“I won a massage chair that came with a little tablet,” Nate said. “It’s a fantastic massage chair. I actually had to sit in it after winning it. It’s really comfortable.”
Nate also won a pair of designer sunglasses from among the contestants before winning the massage chair.
Nate then continued spinning the wheel, getting a .50 the first time and had to hit a. 90. He hit a .55 on the second spin and went over, eliminating him. However, Nate was momentarily surprised by the experience, especially with the weight of the wheel.
“A lot of people say the bike is heavier than it looks,” Nate said. “I thought the opposite, I didn’t really find it as hard as I expected.
Despite being a Price is Right superfan, Nate loves game shows and still can’t get over being on one.
“It’s simple, I love the show, I love game shows,” Nate said. “I’m such a game show nerd, a game show fanatic. And to be, not just go into the studio, but then actually be on the show, you know. Being called down and spinning the wheel, crazy, to this day I can’t even believe that happened.”
