Personal appointment details disclosed at GP surgeries in St Helens
In order to analyze the performance of GP practices and inform users about their activity and usage, the government now publishes data on GP practices nationwide every month.
This includes information about the types of appointments made that month, the time it took to get an appointment, and the number of appointments attended by GPs or other office staff.

Given the many difficulties the healthcare sector has faced in recent years, healthcare chiefs have made changes to the way they work to try to effectively manage the patient backlog.
This means that while GP surgeries can still see patients face-to-face, they can also conduct online and telephone screenings and refer people to the most appropriate healthcare provider, such as a pharmacist or physiotherapist.

While certain practices will inevitably be busier and have a larger catchment area than others, these are the numbers for the number of appointments in the St Helens Central, South, North and Newton and Haydock counties for December 2022.
