On Friday, Vice President Kamala Harris said on MSNBC’s The ReidOut that President Joe Biden’s SCOTUS nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson, “cut the political game” of Republican senators during their confirmation hearings.
Moderator Joy Reid said: “We sat and watched Ketanji Brown Jackson’s hearings and she sat through it very calmly, which I think a lot of black women in particular, let’s be honest, would call blatant disrespect from senators like Lindsey Graham, Tom Cotton and the senators felt like Josh Hawley. What did you think when you saw this hearing?”
Kamala Harris said: “I will tell you, Joy, I felt great joy to see this brilliant, phenomenal black lawyer being so smart and just breaking through the political shenanigans she was trying to understand, and she just was easygoing and as far as I’m concerned it was taking quite a lot of people to school.”
She continued: “And I watched that with incredible joy because it was a brilliance for the whole country to see. And I can’t wait to see her. That is only surpassed by the joy I felt when I saw her take the oath to be the next Supreme Court Justice of the United States.”
