Phone tapping between Smart Cleanse heiress and 14-year-old boy allegedly having drunk sex

Famed weight-loss guru and heiress Savannah Daisley is being taped by a secret phone line trying to silence the 14-year-old boy she allegedly raped, police allege.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Kerry-Ann McKinnon told Downing Center Magistrates’ Court on Monday that the secret call was recorded on the same day Ms Daisley was arrested, just over three weeks after his mother died in June had told about the alleged sexual acts.

The police sting came just over a year after officers claimed Ms Daisley had drunk sex with the teenager four times in one day.

“It wasn’t a spontaneous act. Some disclosures about feelings were previously made,” said Sgt. McKinnon, describing the call, which is unable to be released due to a suppression order.

“There are excuses too. She… tries to shift the blame.

“She suggests it was mutual… and what the potential impact will be.

“She has guilt that is tripping this kid up. Reminds the child of the agreement to keep them under wraps.

“Puts it in a kind of story-like, fairy-tale situation… like it’s going to go away and never come back.”

Judge Alison Viney said Ms Daisley, who “regularly fainted from alcohol she was consuming,” said on the call that the alleged acts “should be confined to the depths of the ocean in a chest.”

Ms Viney described the intercepted call as “a very disturbing telephone conversation” made on June 27 this year, the same day that police successfully applied for a search warrant for a listening device and the boy called Ms Daisley.

Police claim the Instagram influencer and the boy had sex four times in a 24-hour period as of 5pm on May 19, 2021.

The call came as Daisley, 45, filed for bail on Monday afternoon after being remanded in custody last month for four counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a child aged between 14 and 16.

Looking glamorous despite wearing prison green, Ms Daisley also appeared tense and anxious as her lawyer Gabrielle Bashir made a desperate attempt to get her released on bail, citing her “deteriorating” mental health behind bars in Australia’s toughest women’s prison.

Ms Bashir said Ms Daisley, who is being held at Silverwater Women’s Correctional Center in western Sydney, risks losing “millions of dollars” from her business while she is incarcerated.

The founder of Smart Cleanse, who promotes her 14-day detox programs internationally with celebrity endorsements, is currently “rebranding” a product and her parents have significant investments in the business that were now at risk.

Ms Bashir told the court Monday that Ms Daisley’s mother has ovarian cancer and that her family will offer $100,000 as a bond if she is released on bail.

Gabrielle Bashir told the court that in a previous unsuccessful request for bail earlier this month, a judge was wrongly informed that the alleged offenses carried a maximum sentence of 14 years, when it was only 12 years.

She argued that Ms Daisley had “deteriorating mental health in detention”, that she should appear in an AVO matter against her ex-partner James Wallis and that further detention would be a “significant financial deterrent” to her wellness business in Amount of “millions of dollars” mean ‘.

Ms Daisley’s father, the famous horse breeder Ross Daisley, who raced the famous Thoroughbred Choisir at Royal Ascot, was in court for his daughter’s hearing on Monday.

He previously offered to post $10,000 bail to get his daughter out of custody.

Ms. Daisley is a successful entrepreneur and founder of Smart Cleanse – a 14-day program that includes capsules and powers that promise to detoxify clients’ bodies, relieve stress, shed pounds and reverse aging.

Ms Daisley’s products are now sold across Australia, having struck deals with pharmacy giant Priceline in 2018 and nutritional supplements giant Mr Vitamin in 2020.

She founded the company in 2014 and quickly attracted a celebrity following including Neighbors star Jodi Gordon, who appeared in a video testimonial for Smart Cleanse in June 2021 — calling the program her “health and beauty secret.”

Daisley typically resides in a $10 million waterfront mansion 12 miles from Silverwater Prison on the city’s lower north shore.

Judge Viney told Ms Daisley that she was not the only person in prison who felt she would be better able to cope with mental health issues if they were released.

“In courtroom after courtroom, there is an extremely large number of people with enormously complex needs after a traumatic life,” Ms. Viney said.

“The reality is, if that were taken for granted, the system would collapse and everyone would be released.”

However, she decided to release Ms Daisley on bail under strict conditions, including surrendering her passport and having no contact with the alleged teenage victim or other witnesses.

Ms Daisley’s father broke out in applause in court when his daughter was granted bail, who shed a few tears and thanked the judge.

Ms Daisley must live with her parents and report to Moss Vale Police Station while awaiting trial on child molestation charges.

Sgt McKinnon said prosecutors had a “very strong case” linked to the intercepted call that could jail Ms Daisley for up to 12 years for any alleged criminal offense.
