Piers Morgan is asking Arsenal to sign a £510k-a-week star

Piers Morgan has urged his beloved Arsenal to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United this summer.

Ronaldo reminded English football what a giant player he still is on Saturday by scoring a stunning hat-trick in the 3-2 win over Norwich City at Old Trafford.

That was his 60th career treble and considering he’s 37 it’s safe to say he remains a monstrous goalscorer.

And that is exactly what Arsenal needs.

Mikel Arteta’s side have lost their last three Premier League games, scoring one goal – a deflected effort by Martin Odegaard – in this losing streak.

In June, with Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette out of contract, Folarin Balogun could be the Gunners’ only recognized forward – and Balogun is just 20 years old, summing up the north Londoners’ problem in that regard.

And Arsenal’s daft Morgan thinks a summer move makes sense for Ronaldo.

Will Arsenal sign Ronaldo?

Well no.

Ronaldo is out of contract in the summer of 2023 and while Arsenal could afford a fee, the Red Devils would never sell to a Premier League rival in a million years.

The five-time Champions League winner also earns money in the region £510,000 per weekwhich amounts to around £26 million a year.

And considering Arteta and Edu have been targeting players under the age of 25 in recent years, Ronaldo just doesn’t fit the profile of player they want.
