Ping adds 3 new models to the PLD Milled putter line

The Anser 2, Anser D and Oslo 4 are the latest additions to Ping’s PLD Milled line.

The launch of Ping’s PLD (Putting Lab Design) line last year offered golfers the opportunity to get their hands on putters at a variety of price points. For the full Tour experience, Ping introduced the PLD Custom program, which made it possible to go through a putter fitting at Ping headquarters – or online – and create a one-of-a-kind wand built to a golfer’s specifications.

The other way to get a putter was the PLD Milled range, which recently expanded to seven models with the Anser D, Anser 2 and Oslo 4. Each forged 303 stainless steel putter is milled for four hours to shape the face and radius of the head. Ping’s AMP (Aggressive Milling Pattern) face technology is then added to induce a “Tour-preferred” sound and feel at impact.

“We have been very pleased with the results and feedback across the program,” said John K. Solheim, CEO and President of Ping. “It allows us to offer golfers more of what we do best – designing and building the highest-performing putters in the game. In the case of the PLD Milled line, we continue to add Tour-inspired models to offer golfers the latest in green-scoring performance.”

The Answer D is an evolution of the iconic design with a wider profile that puts more mass behind the ball to stabilize the head at impact while the answer 2 offers a longer, slimmer profile and squared-off bumpers. The Oslo 4 combines the Oslo mallet shape with an Anser 4 style hosel designed for high arc shots.

“Our intention with the PLD Milled line is to offer our most popular models from the past and regularly add new, tour-influenced designs,” said Solheim. “As we work with our engineers and tour staff on new designs as part of the PLD program, we will continue to expand the line to ensure golfers have access to our latest technologies and processes.”

All three models can be purchased for $485 and are available with either black graphite (Anser D, Anser 2) or stepless steel (Oslo 4) shafts.
