The tweet immediately went viral as other Pokemon players reacted in horror. Many fans empathized with the Youtuber and responded with their own horror stories.
“I know that feeling, the Joy-Con drifting got me a dead Pokemon in Nuzlocke by making me use the wrong moves,” one user wrote. Another exclaimed, “This hurts me so much I can’t explain it.”

Since the launch of the Nintendo Switch in 2017, players have reported problems with the console’s controller lag. Famously dubbed ‘Joy-Con drift’, the hardware problem has become so widespread that Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has had to apologize to consumers for the problem.
Incredibly, this isn’t the first time a Pokemon fan has suffered due to hardware failure. In 2020, a Sword & Shield player also lost the Master Ball due to controller malfunction. Who knows, the glitch could happen again when Pokemon Legends Arceus releases on January 28.
