Niantic’s global sensation, Pokemon GO ranks 6th among mobile games generating a billion dollars plus revenue on the App Store and Google Play, according to Sensor Tower. According to the Report, Pokemon GO hit $1.2 billion in sales, making 2021 one of its best years yet. Launched in 2016, Pokemon GO has become a phenomenon thanks to its novel gameplay, lovable characters, and aspects of exploration, mobility, and community integration. The game has surpassed one billion downloads and spans over 150 countries.
2021 is a first year in Niantic. On a global level, Niantic not only launched the Lightship initiative to potential talent partners, but the game also celebrates a special performance by Pokemon fan and Grammy-winning artist, Ed Sheeran. 2021 is also a year when Niantic, creator of Pokemon GO, solidifies plans in India.
