Pokemon Go: Should you choose the Melemele Island, Akala Island, Ula’Ula Island, or Poni Island paths? (Special Research from Alola to Alola)

To celebrate the end of Pokémon Go’s Alola season, fans can participate in new Special Research Quests. This series of Special Research is a bit different than previous events as players have the opportunity to choose which path to take. The path players choose will affect the quests and rewards they receive during the end of season celebrations.

Akala Island Rewards

Trainers who enjoy adventure and exploration in Pokémon Go should choose the Akala Island path. This path asks players to move around their area and complete a certain number of kilometers or rotate a certain number of PokéStops.

Reward:

• an incense
• Two incubators
• A super incubator
• An encounter with an Alolan Marowack
• A Pa’u style Oricorio hat for player avatars

Melemel Island Rewards

The Melemel Island path is for players who enjoy the social aspects of Pokémon Go. The quests in this path will ask players to send gifts, take snapshots, and do other friend-based activities.

Reward:

• Two poffins
• A decoy module
• Four Lucky Eggs
• An encounter with an Alolan Raichu
• A pom-pom style Oricorio hat for player avatars

Poni Island Rewards

Strong trainers will enjoy the Poni Island quest path. Players who choose this path will have to compete against other trainers in the GO Battle League and defeat Team GO Rocket Leaders, along with other combat-based tasks.

Reward:

• A missile radar
• Three Star Pieces
• A Premium Battle Pass
• An encounter with an Alolan Exeggutor
• A Sensu-style Oricorio hat for player avatars

Rewards for the island of Ula’Ula

Ula’Ula Island’s quests will focus heavily on catching Pokémon, so players who love expanding their Pokémon collection will likely enjoy this path the most. Players on this path must complete tasks such as completing a certain number of successful throws or catching a certain number of Pokémon.

Reward:

• A glacier lure
• A magnetic lure
• Four incense
• An encounter with Alolan Vulpix
• A Baile-style Oricorio hat for player avatars
