Police said three people were found dead in an Indianapolis apartment on Friday
INDIANAPOLIS — Three people were found shot to death in an Indianapolis apartment on Friday, police said.
Police officers found the three adults dead after they were called to the Oaks of Eagle Creek apartment complex in the northwest of the city over a reported shooting, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Samone Burris said.
She said there was no threat to the public and police were not looking for a suspect.
Investigators believe the shooting was a homicide-suicide, police said in a press release.
Homicide detectives were on the scene to speak with witnesses and collect evidence, Burris said.
“Conflict resolutions cannot be solved by force of arms,” she said. “People lose their lives. Communities are shattered, they are broken because we continue to respond to violence with violence and that is not acceptable in our community.”
Chelsea Laureano, who lives in the building across the street from where the shooting took place, told The Indianapolis Star that she was unloading groceries when she heard people screaming and a woman yelling for her to call the police.
