Police hunt thieves for stolen Land Rover cars
POLICE say inquiries are underway to identify thieves after a number of Land Rover cars were stolen, including some in broad daylight.
Spate of Land Rover thefts
The Star reported after officials in St Helens said there had been a spate of thefts of the expensive vehicles recently.
Police have more details about the theft.
Where did theft take place?
A Merseyside Police spokesman said the thefts had occurred in the Eccleston and Eccleston Park area and in Newton-le-Willows.
He added: “Target models are Land Rover Discovery, Land Rover Evoque/Sport and investigations to identify the suspects are ongoing.”

Officials said in the recent thefts, the vehicles were stolen without keys.
In some cases, the cars were taken over during the day.
“Please take additional steps to secure your vehicle”
In a statement last Friday, January 20, St Helens Police said: “Please take additional steps to secure your vehicle, including the use of steering wheel locks and leave your keys, including spare keys, inside sealed metal containers or use a Faraday case.”
Police say they have been patrolling crime scenes on foot and by car as part of efforts to combat the theft.
