The clumsy little “Popeyes boy,” who became an overnight meme in 2013, is now a grown man, and now the 18-year-old has landed a college football name, image, and likeness deal with the famed fast-food chicken chain.

Collin was just nine years old when he became an internet sensation after his cousin posted a video of him on Vine in 2013, prompting him to become a huge star on the now-defunct social video-sharing app will.

He is now 6’1, weighs 330 pounds, and is an offensive lineman in Lake Erie College’s Division II football program in New Jersey. Collin said he never forgot his childhood love for Popeyes and will “promote this business like crazy.”

“All I can say is I’m going to push this business like crazy. Actually, I love Popeyes myself,” Collin wrote.

Many will recognize the outstanding high school football from his viral internet video in which his cousin points the camera at Collin and tells the boy to “say oooh (Terrio’s catchphrase)…. Oh.”

Collin went on to say he was actually uncomfortable with the meme, to the point where he said he didn’t even want to go outside anymore.

“It affected me … to the point where it was like, ‘I never want to go outside again.'”

Collin signs NIL deal two years after governing bodies sanctioned them for student-athletes in 2021

Now he can celebrate his newly signed NIL deal, which just two years ago wasn’t an option for college athletes.

NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) deals were finally allowed in July 2021, allowing student-athletes at NCAA schools to leverage their own personal brands through merch, social media and more.

Meanwhile, the exact terms of Collins’ NIL deal with Popeyes are yet to be announced.
