Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2’s Season Two Reloaded were released on March 15 after much anticipation. The midseason update brought big changes to both titles, including a number of weapon buffs and nerfs that eventually resulted in the KV Broadside shotgun being significantly weakened.

However, as is usual after major updates, some players have reported that they have encountered bugs, glitches, and error codes that are affecting the normal operation of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2.

Error code 2901 popped up causing problems for many players and now Infinity Ward developers have fixed error code 14008 that was disconnecting players after the Season Two Reloaded update.

In a March 16 tweet, they confirmed that they were investigating and that the issue had been found to be affecting those with new Activision accounts.

“We are currently investigating an issue impacting newly created ATVI accounts that are receiving error code 14008,” they said. “Existing ATVI accounts that are experiencing a disconnection error on the first attempt to link other accounts may also be affected. Stay tuned for updates.”

In short, newly created Activision accounts are getting the error code – which affects even experienced gamers trying to connect to newly created accounts.

How to Fix Error Code 14008: Possible Solutions

Unfortunately, at the time of writing, there doesn’t seem to be a consistent and reliable fix for error code 14008.

Some users reported that restarting their game allowed them to work around the issue, so this should definitely be a starting point for any gamers who are currently struggling with it.

If you are an experienced gamer with an old Activision account, the solution currently seems to be playing without the teammate having a new account.

Infinity Ward has promised more information on the error code, so fingers crossed that they’re able to identify and fix the problem quickly.
