The previous winning ticket went on sale June 10, 2020. The previous winning ticket was sold in New Jersey for the August 8, 20 jackpot of $190 million. Powerball is a type of multi-state lottery played every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, and is one of the two largest lottery jackpot games in the United States. Powerball Jackpots start at $20 million and other prizes pay out between $1 million and $2 million with Power Play. Tickets are $2. You can check the numbers for tonight, or any past winning numbers, on the official page Powerball website.
There are nine ways to win money in Powerball. Just getting the Powerball with no other numbers will pay $4 and even more if the power game is purchased for an extra dollar. The same payout applies to a ball plus Powerball, and $7 is the payout for two correct numbers with a Powerball or three correct numbers and no Powerball.
If all five white, numbered balls are selected but the red Powerball is incorrect, the payout is $1 million, with a higher payout if a power play is chosen.
The other multi-state lottery is Mega Millions, played on Tuesdays and Fridays. Like the Powerball, the jackpot resets at $20 million after winning the jackpot and a number line is $2, with the option of $1 to multiply their winnings by a Megaplier.
