President of the Jimmy Buffett Fan Club in Louisville: “We will celebrate”

President of Global Jimmy Buffett Fan Club in Louisville: ‘Celebrate How He Lived His Life’
This is one hell of a great event that started last year. This is our second year and it brings together bands from the genre we call Jimmy Buffett Chop Rock. And they play that music that makes you feel like you’re on vacation, that sense of escapism that’s basically Jimmy Buffet. Unfortunately, it’s a little sadder here today. But I have a feeling that Jimmy Buffett wants everyone to celebrate their lives. We see this as a great opportunity to celebrate how he lived his life, how he wanted us to live our lives and basically the sense of escapism. And I feel like you’re on vacation all the time because his music made us do it. So it brings us together as a fucking community and we don’t see this as the end, but we have an opportunity to embrace this and embrace his lifestyle and continue to do what he wants us to do, which is to be awesome. Parrotheads donate to charity, get out and have a great time, and that’s what we’re going to do as best we can today. And that was already planned today, before the news broke. Right. And we had Coral Reefer Peter Mayor here yesterday and we’re glad his band members are still playing and performing and making his music with us and all the bands are going to be playing some Buffet songs today in some form, some form, some of theirs own songs, songs, you know, and again the same kind of music that basically started with Jimmy Buffett. Is there anything I didn’t ask you that you’d like to add? We are ***parent companies of associations. What makes us unique is that our motto has always been “Party with *** intention”. So we do these amazing events, we go out, we have fun, we dress up, we get kind of weird and crazy, but a lot of it is also for charity, which was also important to Buffett. That’s why we like to get out and have fun, but also like to get back into the community. So it’s nice to have a good balance between having fun and helping others at the same time. If anyone wants to participate or learn more information, how can they do so by visiting our website www.dot.com? There is actually a list of all our clubs around the world. So you can find the nearest club on the map. And on top of that, in October in Gulf Shores, Alabama, we have our biggest event of the year and we call this the “Meeting of the Minds” and it’s like this event is happening right here, but it’s a lot bigger and we’re going to be going to Gulf Shores this year. So it’s going to be a great event with all the parent representatives and I’m sure it will be a great tribute this year.
