Amazon Prime Video has just confirmed Radhe Shyam will be streaming through their OTT platform, but when will the film be released online?

While 2021 was indeed an incredible year for the Indian cinema industry, scheduled film projects continued to experience delays due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Unfortunately, this included the highly anticipated romantic period drama Radhe Shyamwith Pooja Hedge and Prabhas, which was originally scheduled to premiere in July 2021.

Thankfully, after months of patiently waiting for news, the film finally made its theatrical debut this week. Now fans are dying to know all about the OTT streaming release for Radhe Shyam around the world.

Radhe Shyam is an Indian film produced by UV Creations and T-Series under the banner of Gopi Krishna Movies directed by Radha Krishna Kumar.

A stop-start release as Finally Radhe Shyam is coming to cinemas

Radhe Shyam was original planned Coming to cinemas in late July 2021 but like so many cinema projects around the world had to be postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Amazon Prime confirms release date for Radhe Shyam streaming

Just a few hours ago, the official Amazon Prime Video India Twitter page was shared confirmation that they had acquired the OTT streaming rights for Radhe Shyam.

“Hop on this magical journey of love,” read the post Office, which featured a unique teaser trailer for the digital premiere. Radhe Shyam will be released for streaming on the Amazon Prime Video service on Friday April 1st – and no, this isn’t an April Fool’s joke.

An exact start time has not yet been announced, but fans can expect the film to be available on April 1 at 00:00 IST, the usual start time for new Indian content on the platform.

While fans around the world are delighted to hear the confirmation of the OTT streaming release, many had been anticipating this announcement since it premiered on March 11th. That confidence was bolstered by the view that the T-Series has made a habit of making big deals with the big platforms over the past year.

In fact, the last six major original productions of the T-series have each landed on a major OTT service: Haseen Dillruba and Sardar Ka Grandson (Netflix), Sherni and Mumbai Saga (Amazon Prime Video), Bhuj: Pride of India and Shiddat (Disney Hot Star ).

The biggest box office bomb of recent times?

Given the extreme budget available for Radhe Shyam, the film was expected to rake in the cash at the domestic box office.

Unfortunately, for both of them, the film didn’t meet the fan demand that many initially expected pinkvilla and MensXP called it a “disaster” for the Indian box office.

Meet the cast of Radhe Shyam

Leading Radhe Shyam’s production are Prabhas aka Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju and Pooja Hedge.

A heavyweight of modern Telugu cinema, Prabhas is one of the industry’s highest-paid actors, having appeared in the Forbes India Top 100 Celebrity list three times since 2015.

After making his acting debut in 2002 with Easwar, he got his first break in the romantic action film Varsham. The 42-year-old went on to star in countless iconic titles, including Mirchi (2013), Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Saaho (2019).

Alongside Prabhas is Pooja Hedge, a popular Indian actress and model from Bombay. The 31-year-old is also a veteran of modern cinema, winning critics’ awards for Duvvade Jagannadham (2017), Maharshi (2020) and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2021).

Other cat members for Radhe Shyam are Krishnam Raju, Sachin Khedekar, Priyadarshi, Bhagyashree, Murali Sharma, Kunaal Roy Kapur and Sathyan.
