Rainbow Six Extraction ranking system, explained

In Rainbow Six Extraction, players will work alongside two fellow Operators, completing operations in an effort to research and defeat a new enemy threat known as the Archaeans. Rainbow Six Extraction has a harder mode for players looking for a challenge, called Maelstrom Protocol. Maelstrom Protocol serves as Rainbow Six Extraction’s ranked mode and will present additional challenges to players as they progress through activities.
How does the Maelstrom protocol work?
When playing Maelstrom Protocol, players will receive Additional challenges in a normal run. Instead of the typical three challenges, the player will be given nine. The Maelstrom protocol also introduces challenging mutations to operations, making them a lot harder to complete. These mutations can range from Ancestral Armor to invisible Archaean enemies.
