ramaswamy: Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy announces presidential candidacy for 2024

Ramaswamy, 37, whose parents immigrated to the United States from Kerala and worked at a General Electric plant in Ohio, made the announcement during a live interview with Tucker Carlson, a conservative political commentator, on Fox’s primetime show news.
He is the second Native American to enter the Republican presidential primary.
Earlier this month, two-time former South Carolina governor and former US Ambassador to the United Nations, Haley, announced her presidential campaign. She announced that she wanted to compete against her former boss and ex-US President Donald Trump for the Republican Party nomination.
“We’re in the midst of this national identity crisis, Tucker, in which we’ve celebrated our differences for so long we’ve forgotten all the things in which we really are just like Americans, bound by common ideals that make this nation.” set in motion 250 years ago,” said Ramaswamy.
He calls “wokeism” a national threat
“So I’m proud to say tonight that I’m running for President of the United States to revitalize those ideals in this country,” he announced. “I think we need to give ‘merit’ back to ‘America’ in every spirit of our lives,” he said, adding that he will end affirmative action in “every area of American life.”
Ramaswamy, a second-generation Native American, founded Roivant Sciences in 2014 and led the largest biotech IPOs of 2015 and 2016, which eventually culminated in successful clinical trials in multiple disease areas that, according to his biography, resulted in FDA-approved products.
He has founded other successful healthcare and technology companies, and in 2022 he founded Strive Asset Management, a new firm focused on restoring the voice of citizens in America’s economy by empowering companies to focus on excellence rather than politics.
“I am for putting America first, but to put America first we must first rediscover what America is, to self-rule over the aristocracy.
“The people we elect actually make them run the government and not this cancerous federal bureaucracy. That will be at the heart of my message,” Ramaswamy said in an interview with Fox News.
He said the US faces external threats such as the rise of China.
It “has to be our greatest foreign policy threat to respond to, not pointless wars elsewhere.”
“It will require some sacrifices. It will require a declaration of independence from China and full decoupling. And that won’t be easy. It will require some inconvenience,” he said.
Foreign policy is all about setting priorities, Ramaswamy said.
“We need to be aware of the fact that China is violating our sovereignty and the reason if that was a Russian spy balloon we would have shot it down immediately and imposed sanctions. Why didn’t we do this for China? ” he asked.
“The answer is simple. We depend on them for our modern way of life. This economic codependency must end,” he said.
In a statement, Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison said that as Ramaswamy Tucker used Carlson’s show to announce his campaign for president, one thing is clear: the race for the Make America Great Again (MAGA) base is growing by the day Day more chaotic and full.
“Over the next several months, Republicans are guaranteed to take extremely extreme positions on everything from banning abortion to cutting Social Security and Medicare, and we look forward to continuing to make sure every American knows how extreme the MAGA agenda is.” ‘ Harrison said.
