Ramin Khodakaramrezaei charged with murder of Zohreh Sadeghi

Ramin Khodakaramrezaei is the suspect, police say.

Ramin Khodakaramrezaei has been identified by police in Redmond, Washington as the man accused of stalking and murdering a podcast host and her husband. This is according to a press release from the Redmond Police Department.

The victims were podcast presenter Zohreh Sadeghi (33) and her husband Mohammed Naseri (35). Daily Beast reports.

“Our hearts go out to the family of the victim and the Redmond community following this terrible tragedy,” Redmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe said in the press release. “This is an incredibly sad situation and the worst possible outcome in a stalking case. We will continue to investigate what led to this tragic loss.”

Upon entering the home, officers discovered a man and woman dead from gunshot wounds. The stalking suspect, 38-year-old Ramin Khodakaramrezaei, was the deceased man at the home.

Police responded to a call to fire at Zohreh Sadeghi’s home

According to a press release published on the police website, “Redmond Police were responding to a report of shots being fired at approximately 1:45 a.m. Friday, March 10, at a home on block 16700 of NE 89th St. Three people have died after a suspected stalker broke into the house.”

When officers arrived at the scene, “they found a man who lived in the house lying on the ground. Officers dragged him outside, where they discovered he had been shot,” the release said.

“Officials performed life-saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) until paramedics arrived. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Khodakaramrezaei listened to the female victim’s podcasts and they filed a restraining order against him

According to the police press release, Khodakaramrezaei had “reportedly been listening to the female victim’s podcasts and started communicating with her. The victim and suspect became friends, but when things escalated, she filed a no-contact order against him.”

“Redmond officers and detectives were familiar with the victim and location as a result of the ongoing stalking investigation,” the release said.

“Our hearts are heavy today as many have woken up to learn of the tragic overnight shooting in our community. Please join me in sending deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim, and strength and appreciation to our Redmond Police Team who have responded to and are investigating this terrible tragedy,” Mayor Angelabirney said in a statement posted to the City of Redmond Facebook page.
