Rams trade All-Pro CB Jalen Ramsey cheap for Miami Dolphins

On the eve of free agency, Jalen Ramsey’s stint on the trading block is coming to an end. According to NFL insiders Ian Rapaport and Josina AndersonThe Los Angeles Rams have agreed to a trade package that sends the all-pro cornerback to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a third-round pick and tight end Hunter Long.
The Dolphins will trade Long and their 2023 third-round pick to the Rams, who acted quickly — perhaps too quickly — and will be handed a paltry package in exchange for the 28-year-old All-Pro.
Not long after the blockbuster deal was announced, Ramsey tweeted the caption “MOOD” along with a GIF of Dolphins recipient Tyreek Hill to express his approval.

A year ago, the Dolphins completed another blockbuster trade for Tyreek Hill, giving them one of the NFL’s best tandems in the league. However, Ramsey’s presence alongside Xavien Howard and safety Jevon Holland gives Miami one of the most impressive secondaries in the entire NFL. Ramsey will average $18.33 million a year for the final three years of his contract but is looking to maximize his earning potential and has openly courted a new deal this offseason. After acquiring Ramsey, the Dolphins will likely have to distinguish him with a new contract that makes him the highest-paid cornerback in the league.
