Rent-A-Girlfriend returns for another round of degeneration this summer

Human dumpster fans rejoice: the raunchy rom-com Rent-A-Girlfriend has officially received a release window and is set to land later this year.

In an announcement via the series’ official website on March 5, it was announced that the show would return as part of the Summer 2023 anime season. The show will air in July, with a firm premiere date likely closer to that new release window.

The news was accompanied by a new teaser trailer for the upcoming season. In it, protagonist Kazuya and main girl Chizuru are shown growing closer together through a variety of scenes and bits of dialogue. It looks like they’re finally on the verge of getting together, but neither has worked up the courage to confess to the other.

This changes when a new girl named Mini Yaemori is introduced. Overhearing an interaction between Kazuya and Chizuru because they are her neighbor, she introduces herself and quickly becomes embroiled in the many hijinks that make up their lives. Then it becomes clear that she will be the latest character to be drawn into the drama of her life, although it could be for everyone’s benefit in the end.

Aside from some new animations showing off Mini’s design and causing chaos among Kazuya and his friends, the trailer doesn’t offer much. Still, it’s one of the best looks yet at the show’s next arc, and fans will definitely want to check it out in its entirety by heading over to the show’s official website.
