The NYT later provided an update on the matter and told players it was under review.

“Update Wordle! We have identified an issue affecting users’ streaks and are actively looking for a solution. Thank you for your patience, ” tweet read.

Wordle’s Rule

Wordle can be broadcast for free in the New York Times’ website.

It was invented by software engineer Josh Wardle, who sold the game to the American Daily for seven figures.

The rules of the game are very simple. A player has six attempts to guess the correct five letter word.

When you guess a word, the crossword changes color to green, yellow or gray. Green means you have guessed the letter correctly. If the tile turns yellow, you need to put the correct letter somewhere else. Gray means that the letter does not exist in the word at all.
